Last night, I watched the new episode of So Random! On the Disney Channel. The episode featured Jacob Latimore as its musical guest star. In case you haven’t gotten around to watching the show yet, So Random! is a sketch comedy show that branched off from Sonny With a Chance, featuring young actors and actresses. They do a series of different acts followed by a musical performance.
The second skit basically involved some of the cutest pups in the cutest clothes. One of the reasons I liked this skit was because I love dogs. And puppies. Especially when they are wearing clothes. I also thought it was hilarious how the girls used babytalk to say how they really felt. I mean, that happens all the time in public when people have their cute pets with them. So it had realism that was taken to an extreme. All in all, it was pretty silly and made me chuckle out loud a few times.
My favorite skit of all appeared near the end of the episode. I mean who doesn’t like a skit that involved Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean? Basically, in the skit, he lived in a nest with two real sparrow birds a part of the “Sparrow Family.” This was pretty clever, and I thought it was hilarious the way he interacted with the other birds. While it fell flat at the end of the skit, I thought the idea was great and hope that it gets brought up again for another skit in another episode.
The musical performance for the night was very impressive. They chose Jacob Latimore to perform his song “Like ’Em All.” He is a very talented singer and dancer. I was impressed by his dance moves on the stage and how he could move around without missing a beat. After watching his performance, I can say he has a definite talent.
I was a little bit hesitant to watch the show, because I grew up watching All That on Nickelodeon. However, while this show is similar, it has been updated for the world we live in today. It is smart and clean and appeals to the children and preteens who watch it. I was surprised at the show even after watching several back episodes.
Now, I am not a preteen or young adult anymore, but I can still enjoy a good show when I see one. I think this show has lots of potential. Unlike much of the other shows on other channels these days, this show is keeping the topics current without going overboard and still being funny. So watch it if you haven’t already started!
