Crayola MP3 player – review

There are a lot of misconceptions on what the Crayola mp3 player by Sakar is, so I want to to not only set the record straight, but also inform parents of why this product has a place in your home.

First, expecting that the Crayola mp3 player could replace one of the top adult mp3 devices would be an unfortunate mistake. What this device does do is give your child the ability to have their own mp3 player. This is where I think people miss the point: this is a starter mp3 player, a device that shows your children that while they can have their own music player, that does not mean that they should be able to pick up your iPod and use that, as well. The Crayola mp3 player creates a distinction between the two, and I believe that is the biggest benefit that it has to offer the parent and child.

The device has done very well in our house for many reasons, the first being that my two boys (5 and 7) are used to listening to their Kidz Bop and Spongebob music CDs on an actual CD player. As you well know, this means that CDs get scratched, misplaced, and broken. Buying and then replacing all of these take a pretty big toll on my wallet. I figured I would just throw them all on the mp3 player and then let them use the built-in speaker or hook speakers up to the Crayola mp3 player (I do not believe in headphones at this age). The built-in speaker was actually pretty good for the boys, and they liked the ability to just take it around the house with them. For me, I found the installation and ripping of the CDs to the software and then syncing to the device a breeze, but I am technically savy, for sure. Once you get the right mode set up for your children, it is pretty easy for them to use, and now every room in our house has turned into a dance floor!

Colorful, fun Crayola mp3 player lets you take your favorite music with you wherever you go! Bright-colored, lightweight earphones fit comfortably and deliver excellent sound quality; player comes complete with easy-to-use Music Express™ software. And, with a full 2 gigabytes of storage, you can take along approximately 1,800 songs – that’s 96 hours of music! Takes 1 AAA battery (not included). Compatible with Windows or Mac. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Damon Cap: Have three kids, two boys (18 and 16) and a girl (12). I had a grandfather that watched cartoons and read the Sunday funnies until he passed. I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
