Air Hogs Vectron Wave Battle – Review

The Vectron Wave Battle was something I could only dream of as a child, and sometimes when that dream is finally put into reality it may not live up to expectations.  For that reason, I gave the Air Hogs Vectron Wave Battle was to the boys and my father first, as a test run before I was going to play it.  They loved it; it has the cool factor of flying (hovering) and the competition factor of trying to be able to shoot the other person’s Vector Wave.  No worries about trying to figure out who wins, as the third hit will deactivate a Vector Wave.  It returns to the ground so that you can play again.

I was able to play with the boys one at a time and fight the good fight with the Vectron Wave, and it really is fun.  Anything that flies and has a remote control is a win in this house, but the added competition factor makes it even more fun.  I love how they allow the Vectron Wave to be disabled if you hit it enough times, as it really gives you something to shoot for!  The Wave was much sturdier than I thought it would be, and the battle mode also surprised me by working a lot better than I had anticipated for a toy like this.  A total win.  Airhogs and Spin Master have really put together something that is cutting edge with a good price point, that is enjoyable for kids and adults alike.  The only issue I had is that my kids actually beat me a few times, but I guess the blame lies with me on that one.

New from Air Hogs, the Vectron Wave Battle takes on a life of its own for interactive battling fun. With its amazing hovering abilities, the Air Hogs Vectron Wave uses laser sensing technology to evade your every shot as you use your Laser Blaster to try to disable it.

Aim and fire correctly and watch the Vectron Wave light up and change color, signaling that it’s been hit, taking you to the next level of battle. Strike it three times and watch as it deactivates returning to the ground. With three stages of interactive battle play, the pressure is on as you fight the clock to defeat the Vectron Wave. Once defeated you can also play with it like the original hovering Vectron Wave.
