Nickelodeon Shows Nominated For Primetime Emmy Awards
Looks like there are a number of Nickelodeon shows have been nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards.
Here’s a note from the Nickelodeon company: “Just got news that iCarly, Nick News, Supah Ninjas, and Kung Fu Panda were all nominated for 2013 Prime Time Emmys! Woohoo :D” It still remains to be seen whether 2013 will prove to be a true watershed in television history, like 1999/2000 (the debuts of The Sopranos and Survivor), but if this year’s Emmy nominations are any indication, then the future of TV is well upon us, and Netflix is leading the way. Amidst the expected roll call of usual suspects in the drama categories you will find House of Cards, the political thriller shepherded by David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. “House of Cards” received an Emmy nomination for Best Drama Series, the first such nomination for an online program.
Other drama series nominated in the category are “Mad Men,” “Downton Abbey,” “Game of Thrones,” “Homeland” and “Breaking Bad. Jason Bateman, who stars on the Netflix show “Arrested Development,” also received an acting nomination. Neil Patrick Harris, who presented the nominations with “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul, will host the 65th Primetime Emmys telecast Sept. 22 on CBS. What do you think about this?
