Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez Sold More Cosmo Magazine Covers Than Miley Cyrus

miley-cyrus-we-cant-stop

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are evidently more popular than Miley Cyrus with the college-age millenial population. A recent report from New York Times indicates that three former teen queens Miley, Demi, and Selena helped sell magazine covers(although not as much as reality star Kim Kardashian who sold 1.2 million copies this year).

Miley’s March 2013 cover sold 1.1 million copies which puts her in second place for this year. However, last year’s Demi cover sold 1.379 million whereas Selena sold 1.334 million copies.

There were no given factors as to why Demi and Selena sell more covers. It could be that Miley had yet to release her album when her March cover came out. There could also be other less-significant factors.

Do you think Demi¬†Lovato and Selena Gomez are really more popular than Miley Cyrus, at least for the Cosmo crowd? Or do you think it’s purely coincidental? I would guess coincidental because judging by the amazing support Miley fans have given her over her latest single(they bought enough download singles to send her latest to number one on iTunes! Miley has a lot of fans and I don’t think the number of magazine covers sold is any indication of that. Feel free to share your thoughts on this.

miley’s single (#9) is now behind selena’s two months old ‘come and get it’ (#7)on itunes chart. That says a lot.
