Suri Cruise, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has reportedly signed a contract to work with her mother and her Holmes & Yang partner Jeanne Yang. Even though Suri is only 7 years old, she has become a child fashion icon. Her officially line will be named Suri and is set to be launched in New York this autumn and will include collections of clothes, shoes and other accessories. If it is successful, more stores will be opened across the country.
According to The Sun, a source said,
“Suri is only seven but she is incredibly interested in clothes.” The surce added, “She has been through a very difficult year and adapted amazingly to her new life in New York, including the upheaval of starting normal school.”
The source also added,
“This is a nice hobby for her, it’s certainly not going to take over her life. Most girls dream of being able to make their own clothes, this just means her drawings will now become a reality. It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out, there’s nothing around quite like it.”
What do you think about Suri Cruise getting a job at 7 years old? Personally, I think she is far to young to have signed a contract and really to young to be doing that kind or any kind of work. Shouldn’t she be doing kid stuff? Even if she is super interested in that world (as much as 7-year-old could be) it seems a little early to thrust her into a career she might not want later in life. What do you think?
