Viz Media To Publish Ben 10 Omiverse Series
Cartoon Network hasn’t had the biggest luck when compared to the 3 main kid networks on cable, but they have found success with Ben 10 Omiverse. This has caught Viz Media’s attention, which helped them to decide to ask for permission to write a series of graphic novels based on the show. Of course they were given the permission to do so and Viz Media has just announced their fall target for release. You can read the full press release down below to find out all of the major details surrounding the fall release.
Ben 10 Omniverse is the 4th edition of the popular series that follows a kid who happens to own the Omnitrix. He uses it to change himself into aliens as needed of when he desires to do so. This edition of the franchise takes turn showing us 11 and 16 year old Ben, a while later from the 2 previous editions of the series. The show has been popular among kids, but has also been popular with parents alike. It makes sense since it is a series that allows you to think on your feet while you watch it. Currently it is airing it’s third story arc right now.
Do you like the series and does it deserve it’s graphic novel? I am not sure, it seems to be a solid brand but with 4 series already what more could they say? I would think that ideas would get slim, unless they use a mix of past themes and new ones to fill the book out. Then I can them having a nice supply of material to work with. As for the full press release, here is what Viz Media and Cartoon Network all had to say.

In the animated Ben 10 Omniverse series, broadcasting currently on Cartoon Network, Ben Tennyson looks forward to being a solo superhero with his brand new Omnitrix, a watch-like device that allows him to change into different kinds of aliens. But Grandpa Max has other ideas. He assigns Ben a new Plumber partner, Rook, who is highly skilled with his Proto-Tool, but lacks any field experience – especially on Earth. Ben has absolutely no desire to be a tour guide, especially since a mysterious new villain has him in his sights! Ben has defeated all kinds of evil, and is quick to remind everyone that he’s saved the universe at least a dozen times. But even with 10 brand new aliens at his disposal, Ben may have finally met his match! This weekend (March 16-17) Cartoon Network will celebrate Ben 10 with a “Ben 10 Bootcamp” marathon, complete with 17 straight hours of programming, including television movies and episodes from each of the series based on the animated kid hero.
“VIZ Media is very excited to release new original BEN 10 OMNIVERSE graphic novels based on the latest installment of the popular kid’s action franchise,” says Beth Kawasaki, Senior Editorial Director. “Beating the bad guys is just part of the superhero gig. With a little help from his rookie partner, Ben will explore the alien underground and discover enemies from his past looking for a rematch. VIZ Media will carry over the show’s visual art style and tone to the original graphic novel series. We are thrilled to open an exciting new chapter in the BEN 10 OMNIVERSE story this fall!”
