CW Releases Description of Vampire Diaries American Gothic With Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev
A few weeks left for the 4th season of The Vampire Diaries and the plan for a cliffhanger is more clear than ever before. CW just released their press release for the episode entitled “American Gothic”, in which Elena is still her new self and doesn’t want to change back. This forces Damon and Stefan to have to take a closer look at what they can do to help her, even if she insist that she doesn’t need any. Maybe Rebekah can help shock her back into place or maybe she will finally be able to win one over without needing the help of the two brothers who have messed up her life the most. It will air on March 28th, which you read more about via the official description for the episode down below.
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES — (8:00–9:00 p.m. ET)
“American Gothic” (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)
RACE FOR THE CURE — Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) take off in search of Katherine (also played by Nina Dobrev) and find themselves in a small town in Pennsylvania, where Elena has a surprising encounter with another old acquaintance — Elijah (guest star Daniel Gillies). Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are both concerned about Elena’s state of mind and are determined to do what’s best for her, but she makes it clear that helping her will be difficult. Damon is not sure how to react when Stefan reveals his unexpected plan for the future. Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) receives Caroline’s (Candice Accola) reluctant help and comes to a new understanding of Silas’ powers. Kellie Cyrus directed the episode written by Evan Bleiweiss & Jose Molina (#418).
Boy, it sounds like this season will be twisting away as we approach the true end of it. I wonder what the end of this season will bring? I am pretty sure that Klaus will exit, except for a few crossover episodes that will likely be planned out well by the writers. As for Elena, it would be nice for her to turn human again but I don’t see that happening. The writers have to keep her sired to Damon now more than ever before, especially with Klaus and his family leaving. What else will keep fans tuning in more and more each week, without everyone’s favorite vampire wrecking havoc on the town? Nothing, so in order for her to stay sired she needs to stay a vampire at least until next season. But beyond that, I am not sure what we can all expect.
How do you feel about this season? Can Elena ever go back to normal or do you think this will be the new normal? I am not sure, it would be sad if this was her new normal-but it wouldn’t be shocking. We already know she has a low luck threshold and I am pretty sure gaining her old self back would not count as a bad luck per se for Elena. So this new doom and gloom side is here to stay for a while at the very least.
