Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen among performers at ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’
It is going to be a strange New Years celebration without Dick Clark there in Times Square ringing in the new year, but it will certainly be a rocking year with Taylor Swift set to take the stage for the celebration.
Swift will be among the performers on this year’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2013,” ABC said Wednesday. “Call Me Maybe” sensation Carly Rae Jepsen and Brandy will also perform. Swift will headline the Times Square performances, which will also include Jepsen and Neon Trees, with Seacrest hosting. The night will kick off at 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour tribute to late host Clark, “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Celebrates Dick Clark,” which will be co-hosted by Fergie and Jenny McCarthy. The special will feature clips and reminiscences of theTV legend who died in April at age 82. The West Coast festivities, which will be hosted by Black Eyed Peas chanteuse Fergie, will feature performances by Brandy, Flo Rida, Karmin, OneRepublic and Pitbull. More performances will be announced in the future.
Last year’s show, the final one featuring Clark, included New York performances from Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez and One Direction, as well as Los Angeles sets from Nicki Minaj, Taio Cruz, Florence and the Machine, LMFAO, Gym Class Heroes, Blink-182, OneRepublic, will.i.am, Christina Perri, the Band Perry and Robin Thicke.
