Shake It Up – Bella Thorne Visits Christmas Past in Merry Merry It Up
It is Christmas time for the cast of Shake It Up and it is a intense one with drama and naughtiness by some of the cast. Cece (Bella Thorne) finds herself at odds with Jeremy, while Flynn plots to get a big hot tub for himself much to his mother’s dismay. However, that seems to be the lesser of two evils in her mother’s eyes since Cece drives a wedge between the happy couple. While Jeremy tries to down play it, Georgia is faced to deal with the aftermath. She confronts Jeremy and it doesn’t end well. So Rocky (Zendaya Coleman) steps up to help Georgia and Jeremy out after seeing her mother eat a Gingerbread house and mope.
So she takes Cece for a fun ride! Rocky, who’s real name is Raquel Oprah Blue takes Cece on a trip like A Christmas Carol. She takes her to a quick performance of her hit song, “Shake, Santa, Shake” in which led and did extremely well in. Best of all, after the little song skit they kept some humor in it with Rocky’s funny take on showing her the past, present, and future with a fun sass to it. Cece still denies that Jeremy is the right one for her mother by saying it was her mother’s fault but not her own. However, the good news is that with the sassy humor and swagger of Rocky, she finally sees that truth that her mother needs Jeremy or Flynn will be the man of the house! While the futuristic look of Flynn was funny since he was a fat, lazy and middle age man, it also spooked her just enough to see the truth at last.
Best of all, they kept the holiday theme going with Rocky searching for her holiday gift and finding out that Cece has yet to buy it! Yikes, not a good friend at all for the holidays, even though to be fair enough she wasn’t a good enough friend to Cece either. Hopefully we will get to see much more of their fun and bickering sides when it is humorous like this one. However, I am going to question if it is even possible to top off “Merry Merry It Up”. That was a pretty decent holiday themed episode if I do have to say so myself! I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was since I haven’t always loved their episodes since most had no meaning, but this one did show the family and loved ones are what count the most. Yes, they did add a little crude humor when Flynn claims that you don’t have to leave the hot tub ever. It was uncalled for, but helped to make it more appealing to all age groups.
Do you think this episode was one of their best? I do and I am hoping that we will get to see more of these kind of episodes. I think that are starting to come into their own and show us a more normal side so to speak of their characters that isn’t all about glitz, glamour, and dancing. It seems like the series is growing up with the stars and that is a beautiful thing when you think about it.
