Goonies Reunion Heading To Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Fans of 80s cult classic, The Goonies, will be happy to know that two of the stars reunite on the second season (which kicks off next year) of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Nickelodeon reboot has Sean Astin do the voice of the much loved and pizza obsessed Raphael will be able to have his good pal and former co-star Corey Feldman join the series. Both Sean and Corey tried out for the role of Raphael, only for Corey to be promised a role later on, which he confirmed to TV Guide. While he declined to say what role he would have, he gladly talked about how it was to work again with his former co-star in the movie that put them both in the limelight. Here is what Corey all had to say about his upcoming role.

The coolest part is it’s two Goonies working together again after all these years, Which is crazy, because we’re all such good friends

It sounds like he is excited to be working again with Sean. I am sure he feels the same way as Cory, even though those two haven’t had much of a known relationship outside of their classic movie. However, that is besides the point since Corey will be able to have current work under his belt again, which will feel so good for him. His career has stalled and to land a fairly large role such as one in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he should be able to land even larger roles once again.

How do you feel about this news? Will it help Corey out as well as of Sean’s or should they avoid headlining the same projects again? I don’t think Corey’s character will headline since it is just a reoccurring role for him. But with that being said, I do wonder if they both will be able to be taken seriously and considered for roles outside of kid’s movies or shows. That seems to be where they luck out and to kind of come full circle again with another kid role, it has to be hard on the both of them to see their careers on this path regardless of how success the show is (or is not).
