Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi & Charles Woodson Give To Hurricane Sandy Storm Victims
Hurricane Sandy or otherwise known as Superstorm Sandy tore up much of the mid-Atlantic states as well as New England. While people are busy rebuilding and cleaning up after the tragic storm, NBC will be holding a benefit concert for those who were affected by the storm. The concert will have big names attached to the November 2 show to help raise money for the Red Cross. Jimmy Fallon, Christina Aguilera and New Jersey native Jon Bon Jovi will be attending the the show. While the short concert won’t be able to feature everyone who wishes to help, we do see a big increase in celebrity donations as a whole In fact Green Bay Packers’ Charles Woodson announced that he was donating $100,000.00 to the Red Cross to help with the relief efforts. As for where the concert will take place, it will be held at the Rockefeller Center which is in NYC.
I am glad that so many are jumping at the chance to show support to those affected by the storm. It is a nice gesture that helps to prove that they are more than just famous people who have spare money. I think it is a nice thought and most likely a great reminder to some that everything in life can be taken away in a blink of the eye. Now I do realize that doing one benefit show can’t help everyone nor will rebuild their lives, but it will help some and it allows these stars to give back.
How do you feel about Charles and the likes of the others doing the benefit concert of donating directly? I think it is a lovely idea, but I would much rather see them try to volunteer time out there, meet some faces and give personal help. I think that means a lot more and it also directly helps the town. Red Cross does a decent job, but not all of that money can sadly go directly into helping out those in need and I think that is my biggest issues with the whole benefit show.
