Vampirina Ballerina By Anne Marie Pace Illustrated by LeUyen Pham
Vampirina Ballerina by Marie Ann Pace (Illustrated by LeUyen Pham) is just perfect for the Halloween season, with the little Vampirina picking out her dance school and learning to dance while fitting in with the other dancers. It is even harder to fit in when you are a vampire, as our little Vampirina learns. I mean when you can turn into a bat and you have a cape you may step on things are pretty tough, but add-on the fact that you can’t see yourself in the mirror to perfect your moves and things are downright dreadful. We get to follow Vampirina through all her practice, practice, practice until she on stage with her class and becomes a true ballerina.
There is so much to like about the book from the stunning water-color and ink work by LeUyen as well as the pages that open to show four full panels, Vampirina Ballerina pleases both parents and children alike. Our daughter is just in love with the book and I think we have read it so many times I could recite it myself. Even our boys are happy to read the book to their sister and she just loves looking at all the different pictures while reading the story. LeUyen puts so much detail into the artwork it comes to life, even the undead! Vampires want to dance as well, and a cute story with great visuals becomes a treat with no trick.
You know how many families have specific books they read during the holiday season? Vampirina Ballerina should be your go to Halloween reading book!
A wickedly cute Halloween treat sure to inspire any wannabe prima to embrace her inner ballerina.
If you remember to keep your head held high, practice, and resist the temptation to turn into a bat, then nothing will stand in your way to becoming a ballerina!
