Taylor Swift Releases I Knew You Were Trouble Preview

By on October 10, 2012

Taylor Swift have been providing Good Morning America clips of songs off Red leading up to the release. Since it is a new week, that means a new clip and this time it was for “I Knew You Were Trouble”. Taylor explains the song is about frustration over knowing someone was no good, yet you do not heed your inner voice and wind up being hurt. The song stays true to her theme for the album which is clearly about love gone wrong, or at least that is all she has released so far from it so far! You can hear the short clip and her full back story of the song in the clip down below. Red is slated for an October 22 release.

I am glad that Taylor is giving us a tiny piece of info for each song. It makes each one have a little more meaning and will also save her some time for later on. So far each song seems to be a good choice for her and while some might say it seems to be a depressing album so far, I fail to see that. Songs like her lead single clearly shows strength in the fact that she is telling the guy off.

How do you like the clip of “I Knew You Were Trouble”? I think it is very Taylor, but it is also grown up by her. Instead of singing hopeful songs about things working out, she is more like closing a chapter in her. I wouldn’t be shocked if this change has something to do with her current relationship or not. But if it does, I think we can start expecting happier songs from her shortly since she won’t have heartbreak stories to tell in music anymore.
