Selena Gomez – Girl Rising Teaser Released

Selena Gomez can officially call the year 2012 the year of movies for her, since she spent most of the year working on those type of projects. While one of her newest ones is called Girl Rising, it certainly won’t be a feature film! Instead Selena will lend her voice along with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, who will join her in the documentary. Since the movie is slated to open in the spring of 2013, they have released a teaser style video for the documentary. It sounds like it will be a good one to watch, but it is out of the norm for Selena Gomez. She is usually attached to fiction and while it will be a nice break for her, it isn’t something that we can start expecting regularly from her. She seems to content with true acting and a movie like this one won’t provide her with that. However, it is a great effort that she is doing her half to support education for thousands of girls who won’t have a chance otherwise to attend school with support from people like Selena.

How do you like the trailer? Should Selena do more kind of gigs like these or should she try to balance both? I say it is all about balance because this movie will only do so much for people. I think as a whole fiction is her cup of tea for the most part. However, I will admit that with her being tied to this film it should help boost it and reach a wider group of people who can help out more for the cause.
