One Direction Cleans Out BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards

By on October 8, 2012

Simon Cowell’s latest act, One Direction just keeps rolling in the awards! They recent wiped the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards by winning multiple awards during the show. It was all caught on camera as well of their performances for the fans there. They are currently waiting for the release of their next album, but they are still winning awards for their debut album around the world! You can see the lively and happy show, including with a few bonus videos like of them drawing each other! You will find them down below for those curious to see their big night and how it unfolded for the world’s hottest band right now.

I am happy for them, but they certainly are not the only worthy acts coming out of Britain for fans. I would love to see The Wanted take home some awards and be noticed a little more than they are now. One Direction is not where their country’s talent starts and ends, so I am not sure how to feel over their big win. They have talent and clearly have a huge fan base-but does that mean they should take home every award they are nominated for? I would say that’s not fair.

Are you happy that they cleaned out the award’s show? I think most of their mega fans will be, but I am not sure about the rest. Simon has a big hold on American and UK media, which could have helped boost them to cleaning out the show. While fans clearly had to play a part, it is hard to see how quickly newbies without help could win so much and often so early. It seems almost to be too good to be true for them, even though they did win. Hopefully soon enough The Wanted and other acts will have a real chance to win next.
