Miley Cyrus To Play Bonnie Parker in Mini-Series?

By on October 3, 2012

Miley Cyrus is headed back to the small screen again, but don’t expect any clean-cut Hannah Montana-style shenanigans this time around.

The actress, who recently appeared on the season premiere of Two and a Half Men, is in talks to star as Bonnie Parker in a Lifetime/History miniseries about the infamous Bonnie & Clyde (via The Hollywood Reporter).  Apparently she has met up with the show’s directors but hasn’t commented on or confirmed the project yet.  Bonnie Parker & Clyde Barrow were a pair of outlaws who became known for their brazen bank robberies during the Great Depression. Faye Dunaway played Bonnie in the well-known 1967 film, Bonnie and Clyde, which puts Miley in some pretty good company.  The four parter is written by John Rice and Joe Batteer.

Lifetime is also behind the Lindsay Lohan comeback vehicle, Liz & Dick, while The History Channel made a splashy push into scripted miniseries territory with its highly-rated Hatfields & McCoys. There’s no word on who might play the Clyde to Miley’s Bonnie, but we’re drafting an online petition for Liam Hemsworth as we speak.  What do you think about this?  Do you think Miley would play a good Bonnie Parker for the miniseries?
