Leona Lewis: I Am Friends With Liam Payne of One Direction

One Direction’s Liam Payne might be single and crushing on Leona Lewis, but the rumors about the two haven’t stopped over yet. So Leona has come out and called him a lovely friend, who she first met around a year and a half ago now. She talked to The Daily Mail and admitted that she is a fan of his band like most people from the UK are. As for what she all had to say in response to Liam’s recent comment about Leona, here is what she told the newspaper.

He is a really sweet, lovely guy. I’m a fan of One Direction. We have been friends for a year-and-a-half.

I am glad that she is a close friend to him, but at the same time I am happy that they are not an item together yet. I think he needs time to heal from his recent break up and jumping into a whole new relationship right now wouldn’t be fair to Leona or Liam at all. If they decide to pull a Demi Lovato and Niall Horan by taking things slowly, then I am all for that. But with Liam coming out of a long term relationship right now, he will need time to heal his heart and find peace within himself for a while first.

How do you feel about Leona’s words about Liam? Would they make a cute couple in your eyes or would it be strange? I don’t per se, but I could see how some might gasp at the age difference. Leona and Liam likely want very different things in life right now and I think that is something some might call a deal breaker, but with those two being friends right now I see no harm. He and Leona just had a few nice choice of words to say and for all we know, they might not even be close friends at this point. So it is best to let their chips fall wherever they may fall and hopefully that they both find happiness and success somewhere down the road.
