LEGO Conjured Larger Than Life Excitement For Halloween 2012
LEGO Systems, Inc is set to create some intense excitement this Halloween season with the building of a 10-foot tall vampire, set against the backdrop of Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans over last weekend. Residents as well as visitors helped LEGO® Master Builders construct Lord Vampyre, the lead villain of the new LEGO Monster Fighters construction toy collection.
Vistors were tasked with building the creature before the sun rose during the company’s first ever all-night building event. LEGO fans of all ages spent the night entertained by a costume contest, collaborative building activities and spirited performances by the New Orleans Saintsations.
Michael McNally, brand relations director, LEGO Systems said,
“Legend has it that vampires only come out sundown to sunrise, so we want to thank the people of New Orleans for helping us to complete our most ambitious projects yet – our first-ever all-night building event. We are excited to add the memory of Lord Vampyre’s creation to the haunted history of New Orleans while kicking off the Halloween season with our new LEGO Monster Fighters sets while offering ideas for bringing the creative and spooky spirit to family’s playrooms all year long.”
Fans can now watch the time-lapsed video of the creation of Lord Vampyre as he is built under a full moon below. The larger-than-life Lord Vampyre model will be reassembled at LEGOLAND® California to add to the park’s month-long Halloween celebration that culminates with the annual Brick-or-Treat event.
