Selena Gomez Talks Animation for Hotel Transylvania

By on September 21, 2012

Selena Gomez has been working relentlessly doing press junkets for her new movie, Hotel Transylvania. During a recent interview she talks about being in the movie, what it was like, and also how it felt for her to play an animated role. You can hear what she all had to say about that in the video down below. Selena plays the daughter of Dracula, Mavis who has to save a human from her father’s monster only resort that he runs during their off-season. In the interview they also talked to Adam Sandler and Andy Sandberg. The movie will open nationwide on September 28th nationwide.

I am glad that they all had a chance to talk a little about the movie and share the process of playing an animated character. I personally think this movie sounds like it will be amazing and we finally get to see Selena return at least one last time in a family film. It will feel more like a real farewell and while that is sad, I feel more like a whole new chapter is about to open. Mavis was just the end of one section, while her upcoming projects are a beginning of a whole new one.

Will Selena do a good job as Mavis? From all the clips, trailers and TV spots I would say yes. I think she has been itching to play a little bit of a rebellious character and this one was like her first test. While she clearly won’t be as bad as her character in Spring Breakers will be, it does seem that we will get to see our first look of that kind of version of her. So I am excited on so many different levels to see the movie that I cannot even begin to explain why. Luckily next week it will finally premiere in movie theaters.
