Selena Gomez Joins Meryl Streep in Girl Rising
Selena Gomez has been confirmed to be part of the 10×10 campaign that is a global one that helps promote education among girls. The event and campaign will take place on the October 11th eve, which will be the United Nations’ first International Day of the Girl event. Selena will join the likes of Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in the upcoming film, Girl Rising as voice performers. The movie will be about 10 girls from 10 different countries and their lives in a documentary/fiction hybrid. The movie will premiere at the event to help promote the cause and equal education around the world.
I am glad that Selena was able to be part of something so powerful as this one. It might just help to change the lives of some girls out there who will never otherwise have the same chance. It is a huge deal to say at the least and it gave Selena a chance to work with Oscar winning people. It could help her shape her own career better and plan on how to win those big roles that could lead her to her own Oscar one day. That would be an amazing gift to her and her team as a whole, as well as give her a chance to do some good as well.
How do you feel about this news? Should Selena do more of these kinds of roles? I think if she wishes to do so, then yes. Whatever makes her the most happy should be the kind of work that she does. I personally think she did this movie for more than one reason, which is perfectly fine when you think about it. The main part here is the fact that she is helping a great cause while being able to work on her resume with some amazing fellow stars, so it was a win-win kind of scenario for everyone.
