Selena Gomez Confirmed for Global Citizen Festival

By on September 22, 2012

Selena Gomez will return on stage again in order to help out the Global Citizen Festival on September 29th. She will be attending the event with some other big names such as the Foo Fighters, Sophia Bush and others to help end world poverty. Selena will be representing UNICEF, a charity that she has long time ties to and has often done events for them in the past. The full lineup has yet to be released, as well as what Selena will be doing at the event. For those who wish to know more about what she will be doing, you can watch it live on VH1 and MTV’s websites on the 28th.

I am glad that Selena will be there to show her support, I just wish that we knew more about what Selena will be doing at the event. I would love for her to sing, but I do realize that might not be possible right now. Either way, I am sure that she will do a good job and help them to reach their goal. If anyone can do that, I would say that Selena would be the one to make that happen within their deadline just by showing up. So hopefully she will make that happen this year.

How do you like this news? Will Selena really help the cause? I think so, but I think that if they had Justin Bieber they would do twice as well thanks to the couple (even though we are not aware of him attending this year). However, that doesn’t mean they cannot do well just based by themselves. I just wish that we could have heard more about it than we have, but I suppose they didn’t want to bother fans of these acts who are teaming up to help end poverty. Maybe next year they can make a bigger deal about the show?
