One Direction Debut New Album on Today Show
One Direction has some big plans for their album, Take Me Home release this November! They did a two day event of performances on The Today Show that started on the 13th. They will be using the performances to introduce the songs live off Take Me Home as promotion for their fans here in the US. The band did a similar event on the show back in March before their debut album was released in the US. If you missed that event and want to know what to expect from their upcoming one, you can view a video of one of their performances from back in March down below. This appears to be their first big promotional move for this album here in the US since they announced the album.
I am glad that they are making plans to show their thanks to fans here in the US. Not many international stars become this huge here, so it is a huge honor for them and makes them one of a kind. Their management typically seem to favor their UK fans, so it seems like rest of the world is often overlooked. So it is a pretty big deal if you ask me about this event. Best of all, their fans in other countries will be able to catch it on YouTube after fans film and upload the two episodes on it.
How do you feel about their pending performances? Will it change the fate of their record? I doubt it, I am sure it will sell out quickly in no time. They have fans who jump on anything One Direction, which makes them perhaps one of the most sought for market for merchandise contracts. However, I get the feeling that they want to show their thanks to their fans here and it will be sweeps month, so NBC will be working hard to give their network that big boost with big episodes. Hence why I am sure they asked the boys to return to their show for November.
