Zendaya Gives Back With Boys and Girls Club For Back To School

By on August 28, 2012

Disney recently joined the Boys and Girls Club to share school supplies with those in need for Radio Disney’s “Back to School Drive”. They sent some of their biggest and best stars to join in the giving back part by handing backpacks out to fellow kids. The likes of Zendaya Coleman, Billy Unger, Olivia Holt, Raini Rodriguez, Tyrel Jackson Williams and Jake Short helped to hand out the loaded backpacks to the students in need. At the end of the day it was reported that they gave away more than 200 backpacks. You can view a video filmed from that day’s event down at the bottom of this post, where they answer back to school related questions, like back to fashion and supplies for an example.

I am glad that they gave back and joined the Boys and Girl’s club to do so. It seemed to be a very smart move on Disney’s end by far. It puts their show’s stars names out there and also proves that they still remain focus on the community as a whole. It appears that it was a great success and I am sure Disney is feeling the love for it. I hope they will have a similar program for the upcoming holidays. I could see them getting a lot of media attention for it, but at the same time the bigger picture would be to help out those in needs. However, I do realize that planning one now might be a realistic option if they already do not have one lined up.

How do you feel about this news? I am pleased with it and I love that Zendaya was a part of it. She seems like someone we all can all count on and really helped to make the project special. While I am not sure if fans were able to get autographs or photos with the stars, I still doubt that they will forget the big day they met or saw Disney stars. It is a pretty big deal and it should be, hence why else would do attend the event (well, besides the PR side of it)?
