There have been a lot of rumours swirling about what would happen for the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel.  Now it has been revealed that Universal has dropped Kristen Stewart from the proposed sequel and franchise.

As a replacement to the scrapped sequel, Universal planned to make a sort of spin-off movie which focuses on Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman. According to Los Angeles Times, the studio said that Kristen “could still be a character in that film.” An insider additionally revealed that director Rupert might still be attached to helm the Huntsman movie.  In addition to Kristen, the franchise lost its screenwriter David Koepp. According to sources, David is settled out of his contract as the project is now transformed into something other than the original script the scribe was hired to write.  The abrupt decision was made in the wake of Kristen and Rupert’s headline-grabbing scandal. Universal initially planned to make two films featuring Kristen’s Snow White and a movie focusing on Huntsman.

Before losing part in the “Snow White” franchise, Kristen decided to let go one of her upcoming movie projects “Cali”. Though so, she has recently landed a part in “Lie Down in Darkness”, an adaptation of William Styron’s 1951 novel about a dysfunctional Virginian Loftis family.  What do you think of this?  Are you surprised about this?
