Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” has become a pop culture hit, causing a large amount of parodies/covers coming out. Now someone named Traci L. sang a parody based cover called “Call Me Mavy” for Hotel Transylvania and even filmed a video for it. It shows Selena Gomez’s character Mavis singing to her human crush, Jonathan. He is hiding in their hotel, which Mavis has to help keep him safe and away from her dad Dracula. The movie will premiere on September 28th, just in time for Halloween. You can catch the fun and entertaining video down below this post.

I wonder how Carly feels about this cover? The media often pits her against Selena, so it makes you wonder how friendly they are in real life. I am sure they are more than just friendly with each other, but you know the rumors have to bother them a little. However, it is fun to see that Carly’s song being as big as it is. They say things like parodies are one of the greatest ways to flatter someone. I will say that she has a great attitude about these cover songs, though. She has expressed that she enjoys them and I think that is a great way to be. These fun, little covers are certainly just a fun take of this summer’s biggest hit.

How do you like the “Call Me Mavy” cover? It is cute and I love how it plays well into the movie. I personally think the studio should use it as a TV spot for the movie. It certainly could help to drum up more interest for it. Granted, I am not sure how Carly or Traci would feel about it either way, but it could do them a lot of good since a lot of kids love that song. It would be just another way to get the movie’s name out there and I am sure the studio wants it to be widely known about by the time it opens next month.
