Taylor Swift To Debut New Song “Red” At 2012 VMAs

By on August 22, 2012

Taylor Swift might have just released a new single, but this girl isn’t someone to sit out of award shows. She has been confirmed as a performer for the upcoming 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, which will air on September 6th. She caught up with MTV News to talk about her song entitled “Red” (after her upcoming album), which will be the one that she actually performs at the show. She hints that it is a very different style of song that we are used to hearing from her. You can hear her whole comment about the song and her performance at the award show in the video down below this article.

I am glad that she is jumping right back into the swing of things with her new album. She seems to be ready for a full return, which makes sense since most of the year she has taken off. It seems like she missed this more that she thought that she would. At least she is able to come back and return with new music this fall. I just hope that she isn’t going to rush her return and make some mistakes like Justin Bieber did when he came back this year with new music. That is the big risk that I concerned about.

Are you excited to hear “Red” for the first time? I am, but I am confused why she won’t be singing her current single at the show? That would make most sense to me and it would also help her promote the sales of it. Don’t they want to top off her recent best week? I would think so and to have sales to top off those is one way to do that, or at least that is what I would think. Do you think she should stick with her current single or go ahead and sing “Red”?
