Rihanna: I Worry About Chris Brown’s Health

Rihanna might be seen as R&B’s tough girl, but deep down inside she isn’t all that tough in reality. She recently opened up to Oprah on Oprah’s Next Chapter and talked about her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown. She admits that she was worried about his safety and mental health, but she was also sad over the turn of events. She shares how she lost her friend when he turned on her. The interview is set to air on August 19th on OWN. As for Rihanna’s quotes, here are some of the highlights from the interview.

I lost my best friend. Everything I knew switched … switched in a night and I couldn’t control that, So I had to deal with that, and that’s not easy for me to understand or interpret. It’s not easy to interpret on camera — not with the world watching. So it was hard for me to even pay attention to my mind and figuring things out because now it became a circus. I felt protective (of him), I felt like, ‘The only person they hate right now is him.’ It was a weird, confusing space to be in. Because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help, and who’s going to help him? Nobody’s going to say he needs help. Everybody’s going to say he’s a monster without looking at the source, and I was more concerned about him.

I will admit, Rihanna has taken the high road and has stayed classy over it. It is a shame that he turned on her, but she is better off without him and she seems to have moved on. However, I think we can all agree that she does still sound sad over the whole story and almost like she still cares about him. I guess he was one of her first loves. At least she was being honest. I do wonder if they have or will get back together. It seems like they still like each other and she sounds like she is still concerned about him.

How do you feel about Rihanna’s comments? They are nice and real, which I think we can all respect. I just hope that she knows better than to go back to him. I think that is a huge risk and while they did make a cute couple, they were clearly not a safe one. But she seems to have moved on and I have hope that she has no plans to return to him. After all, she did seem to reinvent her image after they broke up and I am not sure how he would feel about dating her with her new public image. Do you think he would be okay with it or not?
