One Direction’s Live While We’re Young Breaks Records

By on August 28, 2012

One Direction’s new singe “Live While We’re Young” may not even be out yet (let alone their next album), but it is already breaking records! The UK based band broke the pre-sales records across 40 nations for Sony Music thanks to the wide pre-order availability. Sadly the US, Japan and Canada was not included in those countries, but the actual single will be released in all three of those as well. The actual single will actually come out on October 1st for the US and September 30th for the UK. The album is slated for a November release on a yet to be announced date.

I am glad that they are doing so well in terms of pre-sales, but I think they could do even better if they included the US, Canada or Japan. It does seem like the boys and their label can expect even more records being broke at this rate once the album is released. They just keep becoming more and more popular, it is hard to see how they won’t be setting new records at this rate and so early on in their second album tier of their busy career. I am sure they must feel so proud of their work at this point and they can easily see it paying off right before their eyes.

Are you excited to hear “Live While We’re Young”? I am! It sounds like it be a fun and interesting song, not something that I would have pegged One Direction for though. But at least they are expanding musically and I think that is a smart move for their career. However, I will say that I do wonder why they could not do the mass release of pre-sales for Japan, US or Canada? It doesn’t seem fair or really makes sense, but they do seem like they are aware of what they are doing, so I guess we should trust their reasoning for how they are doing the actual release.
