Justin Bieber & Lady Gaga Join Beyonce for World Humanitarian Day
Beyonce might be a wife, mother and hit singer, but she is still attached to her causes. Last Sunday (August 19th) was World Humanitarian Day and she enlisted a slew of other famous people to help her promote the day of good deeds. She asked First Lady, Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z (her husband), and others. They all took part of the day and did a good deed to help raise awareness for those in need. Earlier in the week, Beyonce performed at the United Nations’ NYC offices and sang her new single “I Was Here”, which will have a new music video coming out shortly here. No word on what the aforementioned stars did for the day, though.
I am glad that Beyonce has adopted a lovely event, but I do feel like it should be more than just one day. Granted, they use the day to raise awareness for it, but we all know that life doesn’t change for those in need. Maybe she should create a new charity that does more than just help them 1 day a year? I think that would be worthy, keep her in the spotlight and allow her to be a mother. It seems like the perfect solution when you think about it, right? But I doubt she will do it since she seems to want to stick with music for the most part.
How do you feel about this news? Should Beyonce and her celebrity friends do more? Yes, but we regular people can also do more. It is a good start, but not nearly enough for all of those who are hurting. I would personally love to meet up with Beyonce and talk to her about her involvement with the World Humanitarian Day. That would make for an interesting conversation and also allow her to make her point for what she hopes to achieve with this charity project. Did you do anything for the day?
