Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez: How They Make It Work

Young, beautiful, famous and in love…super couple Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez reign supreme in teen Hollywood. Both stars are decidedly at the top of their games. While both have nonstop appearances, movies, concerts and business deals, it takes serious work to stay happy and committed to each other.

Although the two superstars knew each other before dating, the torch was lit when their mutual managers set up a first date at Justin’s request.  While lacking in spontaneity, it is likely the only way the two could guarantee their star-studded paths would cross. No one knows for sure when their affair officially began, but Selena and Justin finally made the relationship public at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party in 2011.

Since then, 20-year old Selena and 18 year-old Justin have snuggled on island getaways, strolled the red carpet in designer clothes and showed unwavering support for each other’s careers. The bond between them seems both genuine and serious even when considering their tender ages. So what makes these two lovebirds so compatible? Turns out it is a winning combination of mutual understanding and common ground.

To start, both Selena and Justin are vocal about their Christian faith and how it helps them cope with being a world wide celebrity. Gomez famously wore a purity ring given to her by her devout parents at age 12, symbolizing a vow of celibacy until marriage, while Bieber and his father received matching tattoos of the word “Yeshua”, the Hebrew word for Jesus.

At the 2011 VMAs, Justin won a Moonman award for Best Male Video for “U Smile,” and told the audience,

“I just want to say thank you so much, not only to God but to Jesus…because I wouldn’t be here without Him. He’s really blessed me…”

Finding strength through their religious beliefs has given the celebs a solid foundation as a couple. With all the pitfalls that fame can inflict on naive teen celebrities, Selena and Justin know they have the same morals and values to keep them on track.

Justin also understands the importance of romance when it comes to impressing his beautiful girlfriend. He spares no expense on wooing Selena, whether it’s a helicopter ride in his Canadian hometown or renting out the Staples Center for a private dinner and screening of the hit movie Titanic.  Most recently, Justin surprised Selena with a birthday dinner after the 2012 Teen Choice Awards at the exclusive Il Cielo restaurant in Beverly Hills. The young starlet was reportedly moved to tears by the sweet gesture. And while money seems to be no object for Bieber, the two are regularly seen enjoying ice cream cones or sporting events like a typical couple.

In a recent interview with Elle magazine, the extremely private Gomez said that Bieber is a “hopeless romantic” but shied away from giving any further details on the subject. It is telling that she would even admit that much during an interview. All the romantic gestures, both large and small, have won Gomez over and created the aura of a modern-day fairy tale.

Selena and Justin are both extremely successful performers and entrepreneurs as well. The youngsters share ambitious careers spanning music, movies, perfumes, clothing lines and more. Their pursuit of success is another trait that binds them together.

Selena Gomez got her start on Barney & Friends at the age of 7 followed by roles in two movies. Disney Channel executives discovered Selena during a nationwide talent search in 2004.  She appeared on both The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana before landing the career-making role of Alex Russo on Emmy winning series Wizards of Waverly Place.  Since then she has appeared on the big screen in movies like Monte Carlo and Spring Breakers.

Like many of her Disney colleagues, Selena is an accomplished singer. Her band Selena Gomez and the Scene has recorded several Top 40 hits including “Love you Like a Love Song”, for which she recently won a Teen Choice Award on her 20^th birthday. Add to that her work on various soundtracks, exclusive perfume and affordable clothing line for Kmart and it’s easy to see why Gomez has become a role model for young girls around the world.

Justin Bieber followed a less typical path after being discovered in 2008 by current manager Scooter Braun while singing in videos posted on YouTube. The singer scored a private meeting with Grammy winning recording artist Usher, sang the artist’s song “U Got It Bad” for him and the rest is music history.

The world fell in love with Justin Bieber almost overnight with the release of his platinum My World album featuring the hit song “Baby”. After the My World tour his popularity reached a fever pitch on the heels of his concert-biopic movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Last year’s Christmas album preceded the 2012 release of the new Believe album, a more grownup approach than we’ve heard from Bieber in the past. A staggering five surfboard win at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards shows that Justin Bieber’s talent is growing stronger with age and experience.

At the heart of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s love is a mutual understanding of the trials and sacrifices of being industry icons. They both have personal experience being followed by paparazzi, greeting mobs of screaming fans and enduring a dizzying work schedule. Gomez and Bieber have weathered press and blogosphere rumors about pregnancy, illegitimate children and infidelity. If their managers have to schedule in private time for the duo, so what? At the end of the day, they know it is all part of being a celebrity. When the fame and fortune all gets to be a bit too much, Selena and Justin have continually leaned on each other for comfort.

Will their relationship last? No one can say for sure. As with all great love stories, there are sometimes difficult endings. For now, Selena and Justin are growing up side-by-side and making the most of being young, successful and in love.

   I think that justin bieber and selena gomez will have a great future together but for all the peolpe who thinkin wrong lay off cause yall just been haters but yea sure justin bieber dated alot if girls but yoy should really look at the future for justin bieber and selena gomez they would have a great future together and have pretty babies
