Josh Hutcherson: I Will Be More Fit In Catching Fire

Josh Hutcherson is excited to start filming Catching Fire (which will open November 22, 2013), the sequel to The Hunger Games. He hints that he will be more buff and fit in the second film than the first one, which he explains that Peeta would do after the first film. The movie is set to start production next month and he seems to be excited to show off his newer physique. He caught up with USA Today and shared the news of his plan to return to the franchise fitter than ever, but within reality. Here is what he told them.

I’m getting in even better shape this time around. After the games, Peeta would have been taking care of himself physically. And he’s gone back to the village and is able to eat healthy. So I’ve been training and getting ready for that. I’m keeping it in the realm of the first one.

Sounds like he wants to be remembered like how Taylor Lautner is for returning buffer than before. I am not sure why Josh feels the need for Peeta to be bigger and buffer, but I doubt his fans will complain about that. It seems like many of them fawn for him already and I am sure when he shows up with more muscles it will only become more known. I do wonder what Liam Hemsworth plans to do to step up the game for the sequel? It seems like he should be preparing for a way to outshine Josh, since that would be expected from him. I would think that is what he would want to show up and not fail his fans who expect him to start kicking in more in the sequel.

How do you feel about this news? Is Josh trying to copy Taylor? I think in a way, but also not in a way. I doubt he wants to be seen as buff as Taylor is, but being on the screen can be tough and with some of the hate the stars got for not looking like they were starved, I can see where he may feel the need. However, I also expect that he wants to be seen as even “hotter” than before and he may feel the need to step it up some what. I just hope that he will be recognizable as Peeta the movie is finished.

   It says in the book that when Peeta finds out that he and Katniss will be in the Hunger Games(the death game) again, that he trained with Katniss, so they could live. He is not doing it to be like somebody else in a different movie.
