JK Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, and Suzanne Collins Are Leading The List Of Top Earning Authors

By on August 15, 2012

This year’s list of the world’s highest paid authors includes some names that include standard names you would expect to be on any list of top-selling authors including John Grisham, Nora Roberts, and Danielle Steel. This year’s list also includes some names we recognize, names of authors who write books we love. The list includes JK Rowling(Harry Potter), Stephenie Meyer(Twilight), and Suzanne Collins(Hunger Games).

These authors originally wrote novels geared towards the young adult audience. All three authors found success that went beyond their expectations. This success garnered them a huge following and their stories adapted to big screen films. Although all three sagas are considered science-fiction, each story is different in terms of plot, storyline, and characters. I enjoy all three stories but I don’t really like to compare the books or movies because I see one for each one they’re worth.

Do you think these authors deserve a spot as top selling author? Have you helped contribute to their financial success? Do you think we will see more authors like Rowling, Meyer, and Collins in the near future? I think the popularity of these three novelists indicate a potential shift in the publishing industry. I think many young adult novels are piquing interest outside their market and gaining fans from all age groups.
