Evan Rachel Wood “Mocks” Miley Cyrus’ Hair

By on August 27, 2012

Evan Rachel Wood recently found herself in hot water with Miley Cyrus fans. She made a comment about Miley’s new hair cut meaning that she was on the verge of being “gay”, which fans took the the wrong way accord to Evan. She found herself deleting the original tweet (after it was posted by thousands of sites) and went on to explain what she claims that she really meant. She insist that she did not mean to sound biased or mean, but simply said it as a joke that she found as funny. Here is her whole story, starting from the very first comment and later on her reasoning for why she said what she said.

I called it! Miley Cyrus is leaning toward gay….Ok. To be clear. I believe you should be able to joke and have a sense of humor about everything. And I hate explaining, but just to be clear, I don’t judge people on how they look. Nor do I associate a hair style with sexuality. I myself am bisexual and have always ‘joked’ about Miley giving me gay vibes. Not a bad thing! Just an observation. So I ‘joked’ when she cut her hair that it supported my case. But, I am not so close minded or into stereotypes or labeling. It was a joke. I could (not) care less what gender she was attracted to. But don’t hate me for supporting her in whatever she chooses. It’s all fine by me.

While Evan’s comments were rude and shocking, fans were even more surprised when Miley reached out and asked her to be friends. It appears that Miley is trying to keep the peace and clearly didn’t mind the comments that Evan made for whatever reason. Evan herself seemed pretty upset over the reaction, but of course accepted Miley’s request and went as far to say that she loved her new look. It seems like the two girls made up nicely, despite of the angry Miley fans who clearly went out to defend their favorite, edgy star.

I am glad that Evan and Miley were able to patch things up. I think that is important and shows that Miley really is an open minded person. I hope her fans can learn from her and start being able to role with the waves. Yes, Evan’s comments were rude but I do believe her when she says she means no harm. I think she had a lapse of judgment and clearly did not see how her inside joke would translate across the Internet. I wouldn’t be shocked if her PR team now starts running it for her because of this, but it does seem like Miley wishes for things to calm down and has made an effort with Evan to do so.
