Ellen DeGeneres Is In Talks For Finding Nemo 2

By on August 23, 2012

Now that Pixar and Disney have confirmed a Finding Nemo sequel, they have been trying to land Ellen DeGeneres to reprise her role as Dory. Back in the original film in 2003, Ellen voiced the blue Tiger fish, Dory in Pixar’s highest grossing original film ever. Ellen has been clear that she wishes to return as Dory, which is good news to her original writer and director, Andrew Stanton.

Right now she has not signed on officially yet, but by all sound of the things it does look hopeful for her to make a return. The movie is slated for a 2016 release, while a re-release of the original one in 3D opens in September in select theaters.

I am happy that Ellen wants to return. I don’t think it would be the same without her since she did play a huge role in the movie. Plus she brought some humor to it and I think we can all agree that is the whole point of the movie. So it is good news to hear and hopefully rest of the voice cast will also make a return! Then we can breathe a sigh of relief about the whole deal. Until then, we can hold out and hope for the good news confirming our favorite stars return to it.

Do you approve of the sequel and if so, should everyone return? I say yes to both, but I am very much a traditional person who thinks that sequels should always feature the original cast. I know that is sort of outdated, but to be honest I don’t like it any other way. Let’s hope that since Andrew has return that it will make the others want to join. However, I will say that I am not happy about the almost four-year wait for its release, but I do understand that these fancy animations do not come together in a few weeks like live action does. It is a shame, but at least we know it is in the works.
