Demi Lovato: Nick Jonas Is the Male Version of Me

Demi Lovato talked to Teen.com recently for a catch all kind of interview and the topic of her friendship with Nick Jonas came up. She admitted that they only recently reconnected, but she still feels extremely close to him and knows that they connect on a certain level-hence why their duet on stage. She also explains on how that was even set up to happen. However, she also stresses that they are just close friends and they he reminds her of herself. It certainly sounds like a good friendship for them both to have. Here is what she had to say about Nick and on how their duet came to be.

It was really great. I reconnected with him recently and you know we had such a special friendship and he’s just an incredible friend. There’s nobody like him in my life that I felt connected to through music. We work really great together. Sometimes I feel like he’s the male version of me, which is pretty funny, but, like, not crazy. Yeah, we just have a really great friendship, so when he came to my concert we hadn’t seen each other in a really long time and I was like, “Hey I know we haven’t seen each other in a while, but if you want I think it would be really fun for us to go out on stage together just like old times.” And he was like, “For sure!” It was really cool.

It sounds like she really enjoys her time with him. I wonder if we can expect more duets or work from the both of them together. I think that is something we all could get behind. We now know just how close they are and they can do amazing music together. So they have no reason as to avoiding working together. I think it would do the both of them some good and give them more exposure as individuals as well. So they really have nothing to lose by working together.

Do you think that their friendship is healthy when you consider their past and her past with his brother? I think so, I am sure that they were friends even before she dated Joe Jonas and the fact that he was the only nice one to her after the falling out. I sort of hope that she can become close to Kevin and Joe via Nick. That is something that I would love to see happen, even though it is unlikely. I do hold out on hope for it and anything is possible, so maybe we can see that become a reality.
