Demi Lovato In New 2012 MTV VMA TV Spot

By on August 28, 2012

Demi Lovato is heading to the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards and was recently featured in a new TV spot for the show. Unlike the comical TV spots, it just shows who will be singing or attending the show. They used a scene from Demi’s “Skyscraper” video in it. She is up for that exact same music video for the Video with Best Message award, which you can vote for on MTV’s website for the VMAs. The actual awards will take place live on September 6th and you can view the latest TV spot down at the bottom of this post if you wish to see the whole video unfold.

I am glad that Demi Lovato was featured as a highlight for the show. She has worked so hard and with this being her first nomination from the show at all. It is a big deal and I would consider her as a highlight for them by far. However, I am shocked that they did not include One Direction in the TV spot for it. It seems unlike MTV who has had no shame to use their name for ratings sake. However, it is nice to see that Demi and the other faces had some time to shine without being overshadowed by the hottest boy band around right now. It was truly a rare treat for them by far at this point.

Are you happy that they called Demi highlight by featuring her in the TV spot? I am and I am sure that has to make her feel really good. But at the same time, I am also glad that they didn’t just focus on one act in it. That really helps me to respect the show more and even more so, makes me wonder what they plan to do next? Now to go back to Demi, I am really hoping for her to win. She really did have a good music video that had a fabulous message and if she doesn’t win, it will be a gross injustice if you ask me. Do you agree that she should win the award for “Skyscraper“?
