Carly Rae Jepsen – Justin Bieber Approves of “Kiss”

By on August 23, 2012

Carly Rae Jepsen recently attended the first ever MixedTape Festival and she talked to MTV News about Justin Bieber’s love of Kiss. Ever since she announced the release, artwork and release date, she has been busy talking all about it and so has Justin Bieber. She tells MTV that Justin recently tweeted his approval to her, which she talks about along with other juicy details about her album. She even confirms that they haven’t decided what the next single after “Good Time” will be yet. However, she is happy and excited to release her much awaited album featuring the 9 week Top 100 chart topping song, “Call Me Maybe”. You can hear what she all told MTV in the 2 videos down below.

I love that she is pleased to hear that Justin approves, but she quickly turns the topic back to herself. It is her album and I think that is the way it should be. They were supposed to be talking to her all about her, and that doesn’t included her boss at all! Maybe I am being a tad pushy on it, but I want to see her succeed without having Justin right behind her every step. She is an adult and should be able to stand on her own feet without needing his help to bring up some promotion or interest to Kiss.

Do you agree that it should be more about Carly than it has been? I do, but you already knew that! I would love to see her really on her own two feet and have a chance where the whole interview is about her (and her only). While I do feel like we are close to that, I don’t think we will see that until her tour with Justin is over. So it sucks, but at least she will have a chance to sing in front of sold out crowds early on in her career.
