The Wanted & One Direction To Be Honored

Boy bands have made a comeback this past year and E! wants to honor them! On July 24th they will air a special called 15 Awesomest Boy Bands, which will count down the 15 best bands in the last 20 years. This will of course include the boy bands from the 80s and 90s, but the trailer also talks about the UK heartthrob bands The Wanted and One Direction! As for who they will list as number one will remain unknown until the special airs. Mothers and daughters alike will be enjoying this special. You can catch the trailer for it down below.

I am glad that they are paying an ode to the crazed boy band phases. I think the older bands certainly do deserve to be honored, but so are the newer ones. It will be interesting to see how they will unfold the top 15, since everyone will have their favorites. I am personally going to be rooting for the older bands, but I would love to see today’s bands rank well. I think they provide girls of today a chance to live through that extreme teeny bopper phase of being obsessed over the bands. However, it has to be annoying for the parents at the same time! I suppose we should just get used to the whole boy band formula lasting much longer than we ever thought it would.

How do you feel about this show? Do you hope that today’s bands rank in higher than yesteryears? I would think that most would, but I know a lot of us adults will be saying otherwise. Either way, the special will be a great mother and daughter bonding time. I am sure they will have high ratings because of the special! I hope we can expect a lot of love for all of the bands and maybe even a few nice words from The Wanted and One Direction for the bands that came before them. Unlikely, but a girl can dream, can’t she?
