Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber Dragged Into Politics

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber became a hot topic among Congress this past week after the Supreme Court ruled on Arizona’s immigration bill. Rep. Luis Gutierrez used their relationship to show that the Arizona law is all about “racial profiling”. He claims that you would think Selena is the immigrant based on her looks and name, but it is actually Justin who is not from the US. Of course the media picked up the story, with some fans upset over the topic. You can hear Rep. Luis Gutierrez’s point in the video down below, if you are curious to hear his whole argument. As for Selena and Justin’s reactions, neither have released a statement yet.

I feel bad for both Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, I don’t think it is fair to throw them into politics. They certainly have nothing to do with the case and thus, they are just trying to live their lives. I personally hope that they ignore the story and pretend that it never happened. They have no reason to drag them into it and make it that much more messy. I mean come on, they are barely legal and on top if it, most people know where Justin is from. Just because people are celebrities are known, it does not give us a right to drag them into issues unfairly.

How do you feel about Rep. Luis Gutierrez dragging them into the legal battle? It isn’t fair, but what can we do? Nothing, and just hope that the lovely couple brushes this story off. That will be the best route to take and same goes for any other celebrity who may be dragged into a similar battle in the future. Ignoring negative things like this are the best options, even though it may not always be the easiest thing to do. Then again, this whole case is not easy to deal with.
