Pepsi Will Sponsor Super Bowl Half Time Show

By on July 26, 2012

Pepsi has landed a deal with Super Bowl Half Time Show. They just signed a multi-year deal with the NFL(National Footbal League)which they will sponsor. Not only that, the soft drink company also gets about sixty seconds of commercial airtime. The last time Pepsi sponsored the Super Bowl was back in 2007.

Pepsi is trying to enhance their image and promote their brand(which includes sub-brands Gatorade and Frito-Lay). I think it’s great that they’re realigning themselves with other companies that everyone loves. Earlier this year, Pepsi tried other marketing techniques including a special television ad with Nicki Minaj and a global campaign with a Michael Jackson silhouette made from Pepsi cans.

Sometimes, the halftime show is better than the game itself. It’s a smart move that Pepsi wants to capitalize on this opportunity. Last year’s halftime show featured a multitude of stars including M.I.A, Madonna, Cee Lo Green, and Nicki Minaj. Moreover, the halftime show was viewed by an estimated 114 million, a number that was higher than the Super Bowl game itself. Are you looking forward to the upcoming superbowl and halftime show? Do you watch the halftime every year? Do you think Pepsi is making a wise business move?
