Niall Horan Cannot Believe One Direction’s Success
One Direction just wrapped up their US tour and they are in awe. The boys talked to MTV News and admitted that they had no idea this was going to happen. A year ago they would have not believed that they would be in the US to tour, according to Niall Horan. The boys broke onto the scene earlier this year with the help of iCarly and catchy songs. They released their previously UK only DVD and memoir here. They currently are heading back to work on their second album and doing a show here and there in the meantime. They will return back to the States on June 13th 2013. As for what all Niall told MTV, here it is.
To be honest, if you had said to us a year ago, and this sounds so cliché, [but] if you had said to us a year ago that we were gonna be touring America, we would absolutely have fell on the ground laughing at ya. Obviously when the record label and stuff wanted to send us to America just to see how it would go, no one, not even them, had an idea of how it was going to go, And self-admittedly no one could tell how it was going to go. So to think that we’re going on a world tour next year and about 85 percent of it is sold-out already is just mind-blowing.
It sounds like they really are surprised by their success. It must be nice that they see just how loved they are worldwide. The simple fact that they had to book a second world tour after their first one sold out says a lot. I don’t recall ever hearing anything like that before. So it is a sign that they are meant for major success. I wouldn’t be surprised if they will have to do nothing but world tours for the next couple of years. Much like the late 90s and early 2000s boybands had to do.
What do you think makes these guys so popular? Well, I think it is their music, looks and personality combo. They just happen to have a great chemistry that makes hit boybands possible. The fact that they were built on a whim speaks for itself. By all means, they shouldn’t have taken off based on fate. Yet they did and sort of became a great fairytale. I suppose that is how it feels like to them as well! But I will say that they are coping well so far and we will be rooting for Niall Horan and One Direction to prove that you can do anything that you put your mind to for years to come.
