McDonald’s Share Big Mac’s Secret Ingredient

By on July 15, 2012

McDonald’s is working to improve their image and one of those ways is by explaining their menu. They recently had their head chef release a video telling people how to make their own Big Mac’s at home, including their supposedly “secret” sauce, which can normally be bought as Thousand Island dressing. You can view the video down below, which tells you also what you can buy at most grocery stores to help finish off making your own Big Mac at long last. As for their secret sauce, here is their recipe.

mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white wine vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika

It is nice to see that they want to repair their image, but I doubt that will make some of their haters stop hating them. I personally do not see the whole reason for the upset, but I am happy that we get to see them try to clean up their image. I am sure some of their fans will try out this recipe and let the world know if they are indeed giving away one of their best items on their menu away. I personally think that I will try this at home, but I am also pretty sure that McDonald’s will still have people coming in to order their favorite items off their menu. It certainly will not keep some people away and it shouldn’t it, since that was not their goal with this video.

Do you support their quest in saving their image? I do, I think it is wise that they see it before it becomes an even bigger issue. I hope that this will do want they want and that people will try their hand at making the huge hamburger work for them and perhaps even healthier? I get the feeling this recent media storm is all because of the health concerns people have, but they are addressing the issue in a more sly way. Either way, at least they are working to repair their image.
