Legend of Korra Gets Second Season

By on July 15, 2012

The Legend of Korra has been such a success for Nickelodeon that a second season of the animated series is getting a second season.

Legend of Korra is a spin off of the highly popular Avatar: Last Airbender.  The second season will be back on TV with 14 more episodes of season 1.  This new series takes place seventy years after the end of the Avatar: The Last Airbender story arc with new characters and settings. The protagonist of the new series, Korra, the Avatar after Aang, is a hot-headed and rebellious young woman from the Southern Water Tribe who is “ready to take on the world”. The series will follow Korra as she faces an Anti-bending Revolution while mastering the art of airbending from Aang and Katara’s son, Tenzin.   Korra has already mastered waterbending, earthbending, and firebending and only has to master airbending.

However, Republic City is not what Korra imagined it to be. Anti-benders called “Equalists”, who oppose the arts of bending, utilize techniques such as chi blocking to further their goals of revolution, led by Amon. Korra must fight rampant crime and the Anti-bending Revolution, assisted by two brothers, Mako, a firebender, and Bolin, an earthbender. She is also joined by her animal guide, Naga, and the Metalbending Police Force of Republic City, who are led by Toph’s daughter, Lin Beifong.  Are you glad Legend of Korra will be back for a second season?
