Family Circle’s 10 Best Cities For Families

By on July 21, 2012

Raising families is tough enough, but when you have to count in safety and other important features- the job becomes more complicated. So many new and older families often question, where is the best cities in the US to raise your kids? It is a good question and almost everyone has their own answers, thus making it a personal kind of thing. But Family Circle did come up with an interesting list that could be used as a helpful guide. Here are the list of the towns that they deem worthy for families to live in.

Bay Village, OH
Lake Oswego, OR
Vail, AZ
Fisher, IN
Ballwin, MO
Louisville, CO
Longmeadow, MA
Fort Mill, SC
Zachary, LA
Oak Park, IL

Not a bad list, even if all are not in a big city per se. I think this just proves that living near one, but outside of the city proper is the best option. I agree with their Colorado choice, since it is pretty close to Denver. I personally do think that they did pick sort of out of your way towns for a reason, but we can also certainly agree that this list is far from being complete. They could have added many more fine towns and cities than they did. It just feels like this is a good basic list to go by or even get started, though each family should consider their own needs and base their selections based on it.

How do you like it? I think it is fun, but I think it should be taken with a grain of salt. Everybody’s needs will be different and not every town listed here will fill their needs. Plus we do not know what criteria that they used to create this list off. So it makes it hard to break down and see why each one of these were included. However, I do think we all can name a couple towns worth while in our eyes. For me it has to be Austell, GA, Commerce City, CO and Plano, TX. Those towns are good enough to be listed, maybe even better than some of those on it. But they were listed for whatever reason. What cities or towns do you think should have been listed?
