Demi Lovato Sings American Honey by Lady Antebellum
Demi Lovato has hinted at going country before and as a native Texan, that type of music runs in her blood. So it makes sense that she would do a cover of a country hit on her tour, sort as a way to test out the water. Demi covered the song “American Honey” originally done by Lady Antebellum. She sang at her San Jose show during her California stop. She clearly had a big smile on doing a song that isn’t her usual speed, but she made the most of it. No word on if Demi was just having fun or was truly testing the waters of her fan base. You can catch the lively performance that shows off her voice down below.
I think Demi Lovato should do whatever she wants musically. She is one of the few stars who is able to sing any kind of music. However, I am not sure how Hollywood Records would feel about it since her past albums have done so well and I am not sure if they want to mess with her recipe for success. Hopefully they will support whatever album she does release next, but I can see why she might be concerned about that path.
Do you enjoy her cover of “American Honey”? I find it charming, but then again I am a fan of Demi’s and I think she could make the song more interesting. I am sure Lady Antebellum must feel proud to have her sing their song on stage. She truly made it work and showed that she could go country with ease if she really wants to. I think her fan base would follow and want to provide her with all the support that they could. I mean, who doesn’t want to do that for their favorite singer? Yeah, some won’t like that it isn’t rock or edgy, but as long as she is happy we should be and she might find happiness in country music by the looks of her grin in the video.
