Demi Lovato Nominated For Best Female Music Artist – ALMA Award

By on July 12, 2012

It is that time of year again when the 2012 ALMA (American Latino Media Arts) Awards are around the corner and Demi Lovato has been announced as a nominee again! She is up for the Best Female Music Artist. The voting has opened and you can go onto their website to place your vote for Demi, if you wish to do so. This is not the first time that Demi has been up an award by ALMA. She become a regular fixture for the awards show over the past year or two. As for when the show will actually air, it will be on NBC September 21st.

I am happy for her, but I do wonder why Selena is never the fixture there as much as Demi is? Yes, I am aware she has been up for some of their awards, but I don’t feel like she has been as much as a staple as Demi has per se or has had as much hype over it. It seems like to me that both of them would be thanks to them being some of today’s biggest Latina stars. They have really helped shape their place in Hollywood, mostly along for kids and teens, but that still counts. However, I do not want you to think that means Demi shouldn’t have been nominated. She certainly has worked hard and earned that nomination without a doubt. I am just simply wondering how they pick and choose nominees?

Are you going to vote for Demi? I think I will, if I can remember to do that. I am rooting for her to win and I think she has a great shot since her fans adore her. I also feel like they should give her an honorary award for her work with charity and causes that do not get much attention. She has certainly has proven herself to be a great role model and with her career in Hollywood, I would think that she would be even more so of a role model for young Latinas (and everyone else as well) everywhere..
