Carly Rae Jepsen & Justin Bieber To Perform at Teen Choice Awards

Teen Choice Awards has just confirmed Justin Bieber and his protege Carly Rae Jepsen both will be performing at the July 22 show. No word on what Justin will sing, but he is also up for a handful of nominations as well. It appears that he will have a big night on his hands. Carly will likely sing “Call Me Maybe” at the show. Jersey Shore‘s DJ Pauly D will also perform at the show. Nobody else has been confirmed for a performance as of yet. We also know that Selena Gomez will be attending the show as well, and will probably be seen with Justin on the red carpet.

I am glad that Justin will be able to sing at the awards, but I do think it might be a tiny bit biased because I am a tad confused why Carly would join him. I would think that they wouldn’t want to keep her fully tied to Justin and that they would want her to shine on her own. After all, wouldn’t that be her long term goal? I would think so. I suppose in a way I feel bad for her, because the media still allows Justin to overshadow her. It is a shame and I hope soon enough they can help make her truly shine on her own. I am sure that is what they want for her just as much as she wants, so I am not sure what the hold up is all about.

How do you feel about this news? Should they both sing at the show? I think they either one should be given the chance, but perhaps a bit more so for Carly. It is her time to really shine and Justin’s fame certainly isn’t going anywhere. So I am not pleased with the news as a whole, but I suppose as long as they each have separate performances that are spaced apart then just maybe Carly will get a chance to get out from the shadow of Justin for a little while at least.

   July 22nd is Selena Gomez birthday. I wonder what she will be doing that day other than attending the Teen Choice Awards. Justin will probaly sing “As Long As You Love Me”, it’s #1. Carly Rae would 90% sing “Call me, maybe”. Pauly D is an amazing DJ.
