Zoe Aggeliki & Mia Wasikowska As Johanna In Catching Fire?

By on June 25, 2012

Catching Fire rumors keep coming and this time we are hearing rumors about Johanna Mason. She holds an important role in the book and movie, as she befriends Katniss and Peeta. Current rumors are that Mia Wasikowska from Alice in Wonderland and The Lovely Bones is up against Zoe Aggeliki. Zoe is a model turned actress who will star in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Both are pretty and are on the edge of fame, but according to Playlist experience is not winning. Lionsgate is rumored to be closer to signing on Zoe for Johanna.

I personally think that either of them could easily do well in the role. I do think experience would help, so I am rooting for Mia. However, we cannot fairly judge her acting until we see her on the big screen. As for who will actually win, I am not sure. But I do have to trust Francis Lawrence will choose the right star. They certainly did not do bad in the first round, so I am going to wait and see first of all if any of these rumors are true or not. If they are not, I wouldn’t be surprised and I would wait for them to announce the actual actress chosen for Johanna. They have plenty of time since Catching Fire will open on November 22, 2013.

How do you feel about Mia and Zoe for Johanna? I think they are interesting, but surprising choices. They like to cast some unknown stores for the most part, so they fit into that profile nicely. However, this is just a rumor at this point. Like when Lionsgate shared that they haven’t even started casting yet. So I will believe it when we hear it from Lionsgate. They are the ones who will have the final say on the cast anyways. So while these rumors are fun, I don’t hold on to them much since I figure if it is true we will find out sooner or later.
