Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie Poster Unveiled
Tim Burton fans should be pleased to know that the poster for his upcoming Disney movie Frankenweenie was released! It of course shows the star Frankenweenie on it. The movie will open in time for Halloween on October 5th, much like Tim Burton’s most famous stop animation movie Nightmare Before Christmas did back in 1993. This movie will be about a kid who brings his dog back to life, but as we all know-things never turn out the way they are supposed to. This will be Tim’s first stop motion animation movie in over 5 years. As for what the actual description of the movie, here it is
In Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’ young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences.
It sounds like it will be a cute movie, even if I do have to say that I am concerned that it might be a bit scary for some kids. I don’t think young kids can handle with these kind of story lines well and I know that it is sort of a dark theme. Granted, Tim hasn’t been one to release movies that are supposed to be marketed to really young kids. Yet many parents seem to take their kids to see his movies, including extremely young ones and I am not sure if that is for their benefit. Granted, I am might be overacting on this issue but I do wonder what age group Disney ought to be promoting this for. I would think 7 and above, but that is my own personal choice.
Are you excited for the movie? I am, but then again I am a fan of Tim’s work. I haven’t seen a movie by him that I did not like yet. I have a lot of high hopes and think it will be pretty innocent as a whole. I am just not sure how some kids will feel about Sparky. It seems like one of those touchy subjects that we do hear about every now and then. I guess Disney isn’t worried and that should hold some weight for some parents. Beyond that, I do think this movie could easily become a fan favorite pretty quickly for Halloween. How could it not when we know that Tim Burton has a strong following and a great amount of luck for hit movies that become favorites for many? I can easily see cable stations picking it up for Halloween time in a few years.
